My xbox live cuts out in halo 3 and my other games work would it be the router coz its about 1 year old ? help?

hi do u think it is the router that stuffs up coz in halo 3 it work about 50 % of the time but before the game when you veto all the peoples names go away and just mine is there also some of my other games work fine never disconnects so is it the router its 1 year old or the game ? i dont know help me thanks
